A TYPICAL DAY IN THE LIFE: FOLLOWING THE PLAN WHILE WORKING FROM HOME

In a world that constantly demands our attention, adhering to a structured routine can be quite challenging. For me, a day starts with the chime of a 7 am alarm. A swift wake-up is followed by an routine that sets the tone for the day ahead.

The first task: slipping into gym wear and stepping out into the morning air for an energizing walk. The local park becomes a haven for two brisk laps, offering a serene start to the day. Of course my morning walk wouldn’t be complete without my Mam at my side and going out each morning is always a good opportunity for us to have a chin wag and catch up.

Back home by 8:15, a quick shower before a well-balanced breakfast. On a typical day I either opt for a mug cake or a combination of yogurt, fruit, and granola. This is my go to and keeps me fuller for longer and I always chose to have breakfast after my walk.

At 8:30, the transition from personal time to work mode occurs. The focus remains on hydration, as water intake is diligently monitored throughout the day – this is something I need to work on moving forward and don’t intake as much water as I should. The workday commences, marked by diligent dedication and punctuated with short breaks to stand up and move around which my Apple Watch helps remind me of too.

Between the hours of 1 pm and 2 pm I always ensure that I block time in my work diary to have my lunch. The meal, strategically planned during weekly grocery shopping trip, contributes to the day’s point-based balance. A lighter lunch is normally what I opt for, as the main meal in evening is higher in calories and points.

With the hours weaving together, the workday finishes between 5 pm and 7 pm depending on what type of day I am having. That’s when I turn to my love for cooking. The kitchen transforms into a sanctuary, and with the support of the hubby, together we create dishes that resonate with health-conscious choices, the Weight Watchers points gently guiding our selections. On occasion I involve the kids which is a great for them to learn not only how to cook but to understand the importance of a balanced diet.

Post-dinner hours consist of family family time and cuddles. The responsibilities of parenting are fulfilled, settling the kids down for a night of rest. And then, as the world quiets down, there’s for a well earned cup of tea or horlicks if points/calories allow then to bed.

In this atypical day, a symphony of routines harmonizes with the pursuit of wellness. The Weight Watchers plan threads through every aspect, encouraging mindful choices and fostering a sense of balance. From dawn till dusk, I try my best to navigate life’s demands with grace, finding solace in deliberate rituals and the warmth of family.
